There
are moments in our lives that remain unspoken but replay
with color and light, with sound and senses, in our memories.
We remember them when reminded by like events as we share
our common stories. The goal of a storyteller is to capture
our shared moments revealing the magic in everyday events.
While oil is his medium, story telling is his genre. Born
in Chicago, Glen earned his Bachelor degree in fine arts
from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena Ca.
After graduation,
Glen began work at Disney and continued a successful 24-year
career in film and television. When he wasn't animating,
directing, and producing on such films as The Fox and the
Hound, The Book of Virtues, PBS, The Life and Adventures
of Santa Claus, Universal, The Family Guy, Universal, Glen
continued to illustrate for film, TV Guide and magazines.
In 2002 he sold
his home in Santa Barbara and moved to Three Rivers, California,
where he built a new home and studio along the South Fork
to nurture his flair for painting. Glen prefers candid settings
capturing the honesty of his subjects. Whether he paints
on location or in his studio Glen leads the viewer on a
journey to reveal a story.
From the Artist
I'm very thankful for a career in film and feel there
is no greater school. But a single image tells a story that
awakens the imagination. Life is not just a personnel experience,
it's a personnel shared experience. Painting is one way
to draw the viewer to reveal our common memories. I can't
wait for the next painting and the one after that, because
I'm always impressed that someone will say; "That reminds
me of…"
